What is a Liberal Promise Worth?
The death penalty was a hot button issue in the 2005 Gubernatorial race. Virginians believe in punishing criminals. Tim Kaine has pledged to uphold the death penalty laws in Virginia. Liberal Policy Failure believes him. As governor, he can lawfully stay executions and it is fully expected that he will do so. Tim Kaine: master of the empty promise.
Virginians are firm believers in the right to keep and bear arms. Tim Kaine is notorious for his extreme anti-gun stance. Like all liberals, Tim Kaine denies any notion of a persons responsibility for ones actions, instead blaming inanimate objects (guns) for crimes. While claiming to be Catholic, Mr. Kaines belief in the magical corrupting power of firearms is rather more akin to VooDoo. In any event, Tim Kaine has pledged 'he will not propose any new gun laws'. Anyone with even a remote understanding of government knows that proposing new laws is the job of the legislature, not the Governor, so he is probably telling the truth. Tim Kaine: master of the empty promise.
Tim Kaine promises to "crack down on the criminals who use guns instead of restricting the rights of law-abiding gun owners." Does that mean he supports lifting laws that do restrict the rights of law abiding gun owners? Don't hold your breath, his anti-gun record says no way in hell. Tim Kaine: master of the empty promise.
Rather amusingly, as proof of his tough anti-crime stance, Tim Kaine promises to continue 'Project Exile' that targets criminals who use guns rather than law-abiding gun owners. Please note, Project Exile isn't one of his programs, but rather the work of the NRA. Tim Kaine: master of the empty promise.
Additionally, Mr Kaine claims to have cut Richmonds violent crime rate in half. Sadly, when you compare Richmond to the national averages, or even the rest of Virginia, he just doesn't have a lot to brag about. Tim Kaine: master of the empty promise.
Tim Kaine says he has a faith based opposition to abortion, but as a liberal, he doesn't believe in 'criminalizing' abortion. So what he tells us in his special liberal way with words is that just because something is wrong, doesn't mean we shouldn't do it? Well, that explains the crime rates in Richmond. Tim Kaine: master of the empty promise.
